Install instructions
- Download the game folder. Once downloaded, unzip the folder and run the file labelled JessieAndJamesSim.exe (with the grey U logo). **You will need to approve the file as an admin since my lowly self is in fact unrecognized by Microsoft. I promise there's no viruses.
- Play the game! All of the controls are listed on screen at all times, and the game is meant to be understood through exploration. If you have no idea what to do, start walking around! Everything should be more or less self-explanatory.
- Fill out the post-test form here so I can make improvements! Some things I already know are broken so here is a list of things I DO NOT need to be made aware of:
- Occasionally wacky controls and camera movements of player character including but not limited to passing through walls, ceiling, etc.
- Player character sometimes floating or back legs passing through walls/objects (the hit box is Not The Best.... I'm working on it)
- Other cat blocking you in corners or tight spaces (you can usually get out by jumping over him)
- Empty quest boxes occasionally appearing
Please let me know of any other issues.

I really liked the attention to detail of the environment within the rooms of the game making it feel like a real cat home. It's also very satisfying to see the chaos bar fill up as you wreak havoc throughout the apartment. With this games charming visuals, intuitive controls, and endless opportunities for mischief, it's a must-play for any cat lover or fan of sandbox-style games. Overall just had a really good time playing this game!
This is such a cute game! I think it's a really creative idea to just run around the house as a cat and have mindless fun while still being able to interact with objects and have an objective in the game (it was especially fun to just sit in the sink). I really loved the soundtrack as well, I think it fit the game perfectly. I will say it was a jump scare sometimes when I turned around and the other cat was staring at me with dead eyes. Overall, though, this is a great game, and I'm excited for future updates!
I love the idea of playing around as a cat in an open-world environment, and the controls for doing so feel pretty natural. The biggest compliment I can give is that the game encourages the player to act like a cat, with each surface beckoning to be jumped upon. I appreciate that the game offers the player options on how to act, it really adds to the feeling of freedom you get from imagining life as a cat.
I had a fun time with this game! The whole concept of raising your chaos meter the more trouble you caused as a cat is hilarious. Giving the player the choice to be an obedient cat or a troublesome one is a nice gameplay feature that gives the game more personality and freedom. The movement of the cat is very smooth and the ability to jump around the house and climb on different objects is very cool. Had a great time with the game.
Playing your game was a delightful experience! The immersive environment and quirky sound effects really add charm to the gameplay. The way you've integrated chaos as a way to win aligns perfectly with cats' mischievous nature. I particularly enjoyed the how you could shape the cat's personality The potential for future developments in your game is exciting. Looking forward to seeing more updates
This was such a fun game to play! The funny sound effects and the environment that you play in is super nice and entertaining. I enjoy that its almost like a choose your own type of game. The idea of creating chaos as the way to win is super unique and its a good reflection of what cats actually do. I would defiantly play again!
I enjoyed this game especially since cats are my favorite animals! The mindless chaos in these types of games is refreshing from Tyrhard-style games so I appreciate this. I'm excited to see how this plays out in the future and what direction the creators take!
It was such a cute game to play! The sound effects and the general atmosphere was really nice, and the different options that I could choose to do as the cat was fun. It was a mindless activity that allowed me to relax and enjoy the chaotic life of a cat. Being able to jump into the boxes in the living room really made it feel like a genuine cat experience.
This is a really fun and cute game to play! I love all of the cool sound effects and the audio, I think that's what really makes this game great! I love the concept where you can completely change the personality of your cat, from an evil destroyer of the world to an innocent little creature.
This game is very enjoyable. I loved all of the quirks it had. From the dialogue options to make your cat be an evil mastermind to an adorable furball. The interactions are great, the music is fun and the game felt good to play.
What a wonderful game! The soundtrack and audio are superb. Really well done, and I love the dialogue options. It made me laugh at the options. Overall great work, and keep it up
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!! I really appreciate the Sound Design of the cats and little touches like the refridgerator SFX.
This is a very unique idea and love that in games. I really hope you continue to work on this because I do enjoy playing games where you can just have mindless fun and wreck stuff. Overall I had a good time playing this.
It'll be a while, but worry not, there is more chaos to come!
Great concept, excited to see how this plays out in the future!
Thanks! New and improved chaos is on the way :)
This is a very cute concept! I really like the music and how clean everything looks! I know this is a beta but I think you could really benefit to put more things to do in the future. This could be a very fun smash room with cats. Maybe placing miscellaneous objects around the apartment for the cat to knock over and smash. Or have mice/rats run around? Overall super cute concept and hope my comments were helpful. Great work keep it up!
Thanks for this fantastic feedback! I'm definitely working on getting in a bunch more interactable objects to mess around with and overall much more to do and destroy in the next (somewhat distant) update :)
I had a lot of fun with this game! I'm super obsessed with cats so anything involving them always makes me happy. I found the humor to be very funny and certainly relatable to any cat owner. I also really liked the music although it cut out after a bit and then I was just left with silence.
As for improvements, I wish there were more things to move around or knock over because that would really push the cat idea. Also I really like the idea of the other cat but I feel like they're a little intrusive when they follow you everywhere and also has really hard collision. One last thing is that I think there needs to be a way to quickly restart or go back because I would like to see all of the possible outcomes.
Overall very good game for a beta and I hope you continue working on it (:
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and your awesome feedback is much appreciated! There will certainly be more physics objects to cause problems with in the next update, so you can look forward to that. I'll also being working out a bunch of technical kinks including the other cat's AI to hopefully feel a bit less intrusive as well as an improved menu. It'll be a while before it comes out, but I hope you'll enjoy the updated version too!
This is a fun concept! Obviously, being an animal and causing problems is a great idea. I mean, there's Untitled Goose Game and Catlateral Damage as ideas that play to this.
There are the problems you've mentioned already, However, there's also a lack of things to do in the game. This is a beta, so I'm sure you're going further, but I'd love to be able to do more. More than just run around and hit 'e' to interact. You mention quest boxes, and while I did find empty boxes, I didn't find any quests.
To summarize, once this is expanded, I think it'll be really fun.
Hey there, thanks for the great feedback! It'll be a while before the next update, but you can expect lots of technical clean up and much more to wreak havoc on when it does eventually get an improved version.
